The shell of the Reactor 9000 is constructed of Bauer’s proprietary 3D Anaformable Curv composite, known for its extraordinary light weight while providing an incredibly supportive boot in a fully heat moldable package. This shell is complimented perfectly by Poron XRD foam technology in the ankle, yielding unmatched comfort in the boot while forming around the ankle for exceptional comfort and impact management. A Hydra Max 2 lining material covers the Proton XRD foam and while known for its great durability, this material also allow for quick drying after each session, helping keep the skates fresh over time.
Other features of the Reactor 9000 skate include an extra-long pro felt tongue with insert as well as comfort foam under the footbed.
Taking note from Henrik Lundqvist of the NHL’s New York Rangers, Bauer has given goalies a new option for strapping their pad. On the heel of the boot, a nylon loop has been added, resulting in the pad sitting higher on the skate for better coverage and agility. Of course, this is simply an included option; traditional style boot strapping can always still be achieved.
To finish off the skate, Bauer has mounted the boot on their ever-popular reinforced Vertexx 2.0 cowling with 4mm runner, providing a stable base with exceptional attack angles for quick, precise movements around the crease.
